Lot Description

An Edwardian silver tea caddy, of oval form with fluted lower body and hinged lid of conforming style with bud finial. Hallmarked Charles Boyton (III), London 1903. Height measuring 4 1/8 inches (10.7 cm), weight 5.2 ozt (162 grams).

In overall good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The hinged lid does not sit flush, the hinge is loose with some sideways movement. Possible signs of repair down the construction seams on the sides, both to the interior and exterior. Minor bump to the base rim. Main hallmarks rubbed and worn but about legible, partial hallmarks clear, Rd 162735.
