Lot Description
A mid-eighteenth century Irish silver bowl, the lobed body florally embossed rising to the everted rim, crested cartouche and raised on three lion mounted paw feet, Dublin hallmarks, no visible date letter, maker's mark partly distorted, possibly W.T for William Townsend, maximum diameter 5 1/4 inches (13.5 cm). Together with five George III silver teaspoons each with initialled terminal and decoration to heel, standard and maker's mark only, probably William Eley I & George Pierrepoint, circa 1777/8. Weight 7.84 ozt (244 grams).

Condition Report
The bowl displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing and would benefit from a clean and polish. There are splits to the rim and the feet are somewhat compressed into the body, one also split to the outline. Hallmarks present are partly rubbed and worn but legible.
Teaspoons all appear in a tired and fairly worn state with rubbing causing loss of definition to heel decoration. Minor creasing to some bowls and one with small cracks/splits to edge. Lion passant and maker's marks appear squashed, rubbed and partly distorted.
