Lot Description

A late Victorian silver sauce boat, of typical form with scalloped edge and flying scroll handle, raised upon three shell mounted hoof feet, hallmarked John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater, London 1891, height 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm). Together with an octagonal-sided modern silver caster, the plain bellied body with stepped girdle to a conforming footed base, and a removable cover with stylised pierced detail, hallmarked Crisford & Norris Ltd, Birmingham 1973, height 7 1/4 inches (18.5 cm). Weight 11.58 ozt (360.4 grams). (2).
