Lot Description

A late Victorian silver inkstand, of rectangular form with scalloped edge and raised on four bun feet, with central handle having scrolled supports for a pen with pen recess below, flanked by a pair of silver lidded glass ink pots. Stand hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1893, ink pots Henry Manton, Birmingham 1893. Length and weight of stand 8 3/4 inches (22 cm) and 12.47 ozt (387.8 grams).

Appears heavily tarnished throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish. Displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.

Both hinged lids in good working order and close flush. Some edge nibbles to the glass pots with larger chips at some corners.

Hallmarks mostly clear and legible with some rubbing, mainly to those on the ink pots.
