Lot Description

A provincial silver marrow scoop, probably Scottish, of typical double-ended form with scratch initialled 'W' to interior heel of bowl and crest engraved verso. Maker's mark 'T.T' struck four times to stem reverse. Length 8 3/4 inches (22.2 cm), weight 1.5 ozt (46.7 grams).

Appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general tarnishing and wear with expected surface marks, scratches and nicks.

Some slightly heavier wear around the tip of the bowl.

On the reverse of the bowl, there is a curved line of repeated stippled marks, uniformly spaced, leading from the lion crest to an outer edge.

The mark 'T.T' in a rectangular punch repeated four times to reverse of stem between the two scoops.
