Lot Description

A George II small silver salver, the circular form with scroll rim interspersed with shell motifs, engraved armorial to the plain centre and raised on three hoof feet. Hallmarked William & Robert Peaston, London 1757. Diameter 8 inches (20.5 cm), weight 12.17 ozt (378.6 grams).

Displaying general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Two or three small repairs to rim.

Floods of solder around joins of feet.

Surface rubbing and some loss of detail to armorial.

Hallmarks lightly rubbed but still clearly legible.
