A Victorian silver vesta case of oblong form, the whole with engine-turned design and shield shaped central engraved cartouche, with hinged lid engraved to the top "From H.M.C.G. 1876". Hallmarked Frederick Marson, Birmingham 1875. Height 2.25" (6 cm), weight 25 grams.
