Two late Victorian gold onyx and split pearl mourning brooches, each engraved for Anne and Edward Cook, one with diamond star highlight.

<li>Overall condition good.
<li>Diamonds appear bright and well matched.
<li>The onyx in good condition.<p>
<li>Inscribed: ''Anne Cook born July 4 1814 died March 21 1884 Edward Cook born July 22 1810 died April 21 1886''.
<li>The circular brooch with glass to compartment to reverse replaced with plastic, dirt inside compartment, with lock of hair contained. Oval brooch with glazed compartment containing scrolled hairwork.
<li>One mount tests as approximately 18ct, the other approximately 22ct gold both with probable gilding. Both pins that test as approximately 9ct gold.<p>
