Condition Report

Displaying some expected surface wear, marks and scratches in keeping with the age and general use.

With some fairly heavy tarnishing and stained marks throughout and all would benefit from a clean and polish.

Stand with solder repairs around joins of some feet, and it wobbles on its feet.

The egg cups are loose and not fixed on the stand; there are dark ring marks on the stand where they sit.

They have some slight knocks around rims, and some likely repairs around the tops of the knopped stems.

The bowl of one egg cup is leaning over to one side with creases at the base; another of the bowls has a slight lean.

Hallmarks to stand are clear and legible; the part hallmarks to handle with partly distorted maker's mark.

Hallmarks to egg cups are rubbed in parts but all still legible.

Maker's marks on egg cups all look to be overstruck; three egg cups with possible maker's mark for William Hutton & Sons (Edward Hutton), and the damaged egg cup with possile maker's mark for Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co (William Gibson & John Lawrence Langman).
