Full Lot Description
A George III silver snuff box, octagonal-sided with stippled borders enclosing floral motifs, the flush hinged cover further decorated with central crested cartouche in between initialled ovals. Hallmarked Thomas Phipps & Edward Robinson, London 1792. Length 3" (7.6cm), gross weight 2.62 ozt (81.6 grams).

<li>Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with age and use.
<li>Some slightly heavier wear around edges and corners, and to the underside, with minor surface nicks/dints and scuffed marks.
<li>Crack to one of the front corners.
<li>Surface wear and rubbing to areas of the decoration with slight loss of detail to some areas.
<li>Hinges appear in good working order and lid closes flush and securely.
<li>Gilt interior with some surface wear, tarnishing/stained marks.
<li>Hallmarks located to interior base with further lion passant and maker's mark to reverse of lid; these all clear and legible with minor rubbing.
<li>Reverse of lid also personally engraved, 'In grateful remembrance of Mrs Daville'.
