A pair of 1940s platinum ruby and single-cut diamond scroll earrings.

<li>General light marks, discolouration and wear. Original fixtures may have been removed, pitting and dark discolouration to localised areas on reverse of earrings.
<li>Diamonds are fairly well matched.
<li>Diamonds are fairly bright and lively.
<li>Rubies are a deep purplish pink hue, well saturated with fairly good clarity and typical inclusions.
<li>Rubies with moderate abrasions, nicks and one with surface reaching inclusion.
<li>With fixed hook fittings for pierced ears.
<li>White metal electronically tests as platinum.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
