A late 19th century silver and gold old and rose-cut diamond star brooch.
Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1.35cts, I-K colour, VS-SI clarity.
Length 3.5cms. 5.7gms.

<li>General marks, discolouration and wear. File marks can be seen to some diamond settings. One star point thins to end and reverse of brooch has female screw-thread component along with small hollow tube, all likely for use in conjunction with larger jewellery items.
<li>Brooch fittings are later replacements. Pin hinge is loose. Clasp mechanism is also loose, appears to close securely.
<li>Old-cut diamonds are fairly well matched, one appears darker than others.
<li>Old-cut diamonds are fairly bright and lively.<p>
<li>Diamond points with some chips and abrasion.
