Lot Description
An early to mid Victorian gold, split pearl and diamond point star motif blue enamel heart locket, with glazed reverse.
Length 3.4cms. 9.2gms.
With fitted R&S Garrard & Co. case.

Condition Report
Surface scratches and minor marks to the gold. General discolouration and dirt.
Glass to reverse shows moderate heavy scratches. Interior contains cotton wool, small lock of loose hair and faded later photograph.
Enamel shows slight chip near the hinge, general moderate abrasion.
Diamonds appear bright and well matched.
Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.
Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate total weight, colour and clarity assessment.
Split pearls appears cream, discolouration and wear.
Case silk reads 'R&S GARRARD & Co., Goldsmiths, Jewellers & C., to the Queen, HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCE ALBERT & ALL THE ROYAL FAMILY, Panton Street, London.'
