Full Lot Description

Two Regency tortoiseshell tea caddies, the first of rectangular form with a domed cover, the lid opening to two compartments with blonde tortoiseshell lids and ivory finials, their interiors retaining the original lining, the domed lid with inlaid silver plated liner bands and the whole raised to four ball feet, 14.5cm x 14cm x 8cm, the second of rectangular form with rounded corners covered in a mottled blonde tortoiseshell with ivory trim, the lid opening to two compartments, lacking covers and retaining partial zinc linings raised to four ivory bun feet, 12cm x 10cm x 8cm, damages, plus a necessaire, the sloping lid inlaid with mother of pearl flowers, the push button to the body opens to reveal a blue silk interior fitted with a thimble and tape measure, with scissors upon a confirming blue silk needle case, 10cm x 6.5cm x 4.5cm (3)

  • Some of the wire inlay is missing and coming away
  • Small piece missing to the back section at both points
  • Split to the back rectangular piece at the top

  • Some of the silver wire inlaid to the edges has come away and is missing
