Full Lot Description

Stuart Devlin, a parcel-gilt silver christening cup and caddy spoon, commemorating the birth of Prince Henry (Harry), the cup of spot-hammered tapering form with silver-gilt handle of four feathers, and engraved to the base, 'Prince Henry of Wales Born 15. 9. 84', height 5.8cm; the spoon with plain silver bowl to a handle formed of four silver feathers with gilt bow and enamelled flowers below, length 7cm. Both hallmarked London 1984, limited edition no.7. Weight 3.16ozt (98.2g). Each in original box. (2).

 

The lot also includes a copy of the original drawings for the cup and spoon, and a typed notice from the Stuart Devlin Clerkenwell showroom, which includes a description of the pieces.

  • Displaying some light surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing.
  • Possible slight damage to one or two of the flowers on the spoon; enamels appear bright with minimal losses or nibbles.

  • Boxes and copy of drawings and typed notice all in good order.
