Full Lot Description

A selection of items to include a late Victorian silver cheroot holder, of plain cylindrical form, hallmarked Rolason Brothers, Birmingham 1899, length measuring 3.8 cm. Together with a George V silver cheroot holder, of tapered cylindrical form with vacant cartouche and engraved foliate motifs, hallmarked Birmingham 1918, a mid-Victorian silver handled folding carriage key, of oval engine-turned form with vacant cartouche and screw thread cover removing to reveal the base metal folding key and reattaching to form the handle, hallmarked London 1863, a 1940's silver mounted photograph frame with engraved monograms and personal inscription, a cased modern silver paper knife, etc.

Condition Report

In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
The screw thread cover of the folding carriage key shuts securely, the base metal component has rusted slightly, the retractable movement is quite stiff.
The photograph frame is heavily tarnished and would benefit from a clean and polish, it is engraved '1922 4th Jan 1947' in between two monograms, the surround is slightly creased in places.
The silver mounted folding fruit knife is engraved 'Julian Earle Collins' to the cartouche. Majority of hallmarks clear and legible.
