Silver novelties, to include a globular rattle with beaded band, stamped with Dutch lion passant, Minerva head and date mark for 1975, two Sampson Mordan & Co propelling pencils, one marked indistinctly and one engine-turned, hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co, London 1938, a similar example hallmarked Cohen & Charles, Birmingham 1940, three silver cased chatelaine pencils, each with varying design, hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co Ltd, Chester 1909, Chester 1912 and Thomas Henry Vale Ltd, Birmingham 1915, a smaller, hallmarked example and a button hook, plus two unmarked propelling pencils with fob terminals, an unmarked chatelaine pencil case modelled as an Egyptian mummy case, and a small cylindrical case. Condition Report
- Item show varying degrees of surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
- All items are bright and shiny.
- Rattle displays a notable bash to top.
- Smaller, plain Sampson Mordan propelling pencil has a very stiff movement.
- Two other propelling pencils are missing internal components.
- Three out of four silver cased chatelaine pencils retain pencils, in worn and used condition. Two are missing lids.
- One missing lid and pencil is quite squashed.
- Mummy chatelaine pencil case retains pencil.
- Gross weight includes internal elements and pencils to hallmarked examples.
