A Edwardian silver trinket box, of curved, square form with shaped thumbpiece, raised on mounted, stepped feet, hallmarked T H Hazlewood & Co, Birmingham 1909, length 5.5cm, gross weight 2.3ozt (73g); together with a rectangular glass box with embossed and initial engraved silver lid, hallmarked Thomas Hayes, Birmingham 1903, a scent bottle, with spread lower body, hallmarked London 1928, a pair of pierced open salts with glass liners, of shaped design with bird handles and griffins surrounding twin-opposed shields, stamped 800 with German crescent moon and crown marks, plus a circular, silver hallmarked mounted glass open salt, two pairs of glass open salts and a single example. Condition Report
- Items show general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
- Edwardian trinket box is in fair condition, the silver bright and shiny.
- Mounted steps show dark tarnishing surrounding mounts.
- Edges to body and lid displays some bumping and minor bashing.
- Gross weight is inclusive of material lining.
- Lid to rectangular box is uneven and bashed, with creases to embossing.
- Initial engraving appears rubbed.
- Glass scent bottle shows some very minor chips. Bottle retains stopper.
- Maker's mark to scent bottle is obscured and rubbed.
- Salts show polish and dirt residue, and glass is similarly marked.
- All glass open salts show minor chips and losses, evident on closer inspection.
