Full Lot Description

Royal Naval interest, a silver and enamel cigarette case, the rounded rectangular form with engine-turned decoration all over and royal blue guilloché enamel panel to front with applied Royal Navy crown emblem, hallmarked John William Barrett, Birmingham 1941, length 11.5cm; together with a matching comb case, hallmarked Birmingham 1953, same maker, and lipstick holder, appears unmarked. Total gross weight 9.24ozt (287.2g). (3).

Condition Report

All pieces displaying general surface wear, marks and scratches, and some tarnishing to the metal.
Cigarette case appears in fairly good condition overall; enamel with surface marks and scratches and some minor edge nibbles; hinge and clasp in good working order and closes securely; hallmarks clear and legible; with personal engraving to interior 'Bill to Anna 25/7/45'
Comb case showing some significant damage and losses to enamel; further damage around edges and ends of both parts with some likely solder repairs along seams; hallmarked to the smaller part only.
