Full Lot Description
An early Victorian Scottish silver three piece tea service, comprising teapot, cream jug and twin-handled sugar bowl, each of compressed globular form to a spread footed base, with floral and foliate chased decoration surrounding scrolled vacant cartouches. Hallmarked Mackay & Chisholm, Edinburgh 1838 (with William IV Duty mark). Length of teapot handle to spout 28.5cm, total gross weight 43ozt (1337.3g)

Condition Report
- All three pieces displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- All with some minor surface dints and bumps.
- Surface wear and rubbing to areas of the decoration, causing some slight loss of detail or definition.
- Slight knock around foot rim of teapot.
- Teapot also with heavily stained interior; inset flat hinged lid with slight movement, however it does close flush.
- Cream jug & sugar bowl with gilt interiors.
- Hallmarks to teapot located to base; marks on cream and sugar are located to main body, to one side of lower handle join. With rubbing to some punches but all still legible.
- Remnants of a sticker and marks to base of teapot.
