An early 19th century Japanese lantern clock with alarm or Wadokei, the centre of the dial with a rotating disc with a pierced hand and two rings of engraved characters, the movement with verge folio escapement and steel gear wheels, the frontispiece with foliage decoration and a small window below the dial, weight driven, height 29cm

Condition Report
- 29cm tall includes the bell - 11.5cm sq
- Missing one hanging piece.
- Appears to be an alarm, but we aren't sure how it functions!
- Silk suspension
- The bell has been replaced
- The hammers look correct
- The corner spindles are likely replacements
- Hinges appear to be correct although the top hinge has broken away
- Please note that the internal mechanisms and parts contained within this item are not inspected and therefore not known if complete, damaged or inoperable
- This clock has come from a restorer and so it should be considered that they may have elements of restoration to either the case or movement, that have not been detected and so viewing is strongly recommended
