Lot Description

A pair of early 20th century aquamarine and vari-cut diamond earrings.

Aquamarine calculated total weight 13.40cts, based on estimated dimensions.
French marks.
Length 4.4cms. 9gms.

Surface scratches and minor marks. Varied dirt and slight discolouration including some blue detritus to the aquamarine.
Aquamarine slightly loose within the mounts.
Diamonds are principally rose-cuts with an old-cut diamond to the centre of the floral cluster surmount.
Diamonds appear relatively bright and well matched.
Cut, size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate weight colour and clarity assessment.
Aquamarine appear a fairly well matched slightly greenish blue. Central window effects.
Minor to noticeable abrasions.
Aquamarine calculated weight 6.66cts, based on estimated dimensions of 17.5 by 10.3 by 6.8mms.
Aquamarine calculated weight 6.74cts, based on estimated dimensions of 19 by 9.6 by 6.8mms.
Post fittings for pierced ears.
Posts with eagle head marks and a maker's mark partially indistinct, possibly a PB or a PR with a floral-type motif to the centre.
