Full Lot Description
A German silver tall wager or marriage cup, modelled with a bearded man, in 16th century dress, holding aloft the swinging cup between scrolled supports. Hallmarked with the Foreign mark, Berthold Muller, Chester import 1900, and probably Hanau psuedo-marks. Height 29cm, gross weight 20.99ozt (653g).

Condition Report
- General tarnishing all over with darker spots and patches to some areas
- Also residues of dried polish visible, blackened in some areas and crevices
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches, and minor dints/nicks
- Surface wear and rubbing to areas of the decoration, causing slight loss of detail or definition to some areas
- Swinging cup is very dirty inside; possibly once gilded
- One of the scrolled supports holding the cup is damaged at the end, it does still hold the cup securely but does not swing very far; there is further damage lower down the same support, where a small scroll section is missing
- There is a piece broken off at the top of his hat, possibly a large feather?
- Some visible seams
- Gilded inside robes
- Hallmarks located just above the bottom edge with part marks repeated to the cup; punches filled with residues of dried polish but marks all clear and legible
- Hanau psuedo-marks also located to bottom edge alongside the hallmarks, possibly for Neresheimer?
