Lot 459

Lot Description

A George III silver consular cased half hunter pocket watch with movement signed Mark Rogers, the white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and a further central dial, plain case hallmarked London 1789, movement with engraved and pierced balance cock,  circular pillars with verge escapement. Case diameter 54mm.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The movement is not currently functioning, the most obvious faults being that the fusee chain has come off the fusee and that there is no end stone in the cock. The case is heavily tarnished, and bears many light scratches through use. It would also benefit from a good clean. The movement is not well attached to the case. The pendant is loose. The glass is cracked into four parts, the hour hand is tarnished and filthy, the minute hand is missing. The dial is dirty with some markings and a prominent chip at the seven o'clock position.
