Lot Description

An 18ct gold key wind open face pocket watch, the gilt tone dial with hourly applied black Roman numerals, surrounded by a minute track, having a floral decoration to centre, the ornately decorated case with foliate and floral design to back, hallmarked London 1872, personal engraving to dust cover, fitted with a signed full plate movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 41mm. Total weight 52gms.

An 18ct gold key wind open face pocket watch, movement is currently not functioning, dial has many surface scratches and marks as a result of use, there is much damage to the hourly applied Roman numerals with paint work either rubbed, chipped, smudged or worn away, hands have many scratches to the surface, minute hand appears to be slightly bent out of shape, glass has light surface scratches and scuffs from use, glass is not secure within setting, hinge to case glass is in good working order but case glass does not lock securely into place,  case has many light surface scratches and marks, beneath case back there is a personal engraving to the dust cover which reads 'A. Aspinall' beneath the case back there are light surface scratches and marks as a result of wear.
