Lot Description
Late Victorian silver matched pair of candelabra with twin loop branches, each with central column decorated with draped swag motifs and leading to a quatrefoil shape base embossed with a band of formalised acanthus leaves, the whole with further foliate decoration to each socket and detachable nozzle (filled). Most parts are hallmarked London 1898, one candlestick dated 1901 and two nozzles dated 1894, two maker's marks are visible, Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater and John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater. Maximum height measures 8 1/2 inches (21.5 cm).

Condition Report
Both candelabra display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some slight deeper tarnishing to some areas, especially around the quatrefoil bases. Some deeper scratches and various minor nicks and some seam lines are visible. Some of the detachable nozzles fit quite tightly and one is jammed in place. Some rubbing and distortion to hallmarks and maker's marks but mainly legible.
