Lot Description

A George III silver mounted wine coaster with shaped edge, gadrooned rim, wooden base with central button engraved with a crest. Hallmarked probably William Bateman I, London 1817. Diameter measuring 5 3/4 inches (14.4 cm).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use. Heavy tarnishing visible and would benefit from a clean and polish. The varnish/finish to the wood has worn and deteriorated. The button is not hallmarked. The hallmarks appear partly distorted particularly the date letter and maker's mark.
