An early 19th century inlaid mahogany stick barometer.
(Joseph) Somalvico, No. 67 Leather Lane Holborn, the signed engraved silvered plate centered by an exposed main tube flanked by an ethanol Fahrenheit thermometer, and a scale reading from 27 to 31 inches of pressure with remarks, beside vernier, the whole behind crossbanded and chequer-strung glazed door, the trunk with architectural broken pediment over chequer-strung trunk and turned cistern cover, 38", (97cm) high.

Main tube has either slipped 1/2 an inch or is replaced - rubbing to silvered plate just above. Minor cracking to cistern cover, trunk has been polished some time ago.
