Lot Description
An Early Victorian silver salver of shaped circular form with wheat ear and foliate motifs to the ribbed border, the centre engraved with a band of trailing and fruiting vine leaves, an inner garland of wheat ears and engraved monogram to the centre, the whole raised above four acanthus scroll feet. Hallmarked John Samuel Hunt, London 1846, also marked Hunt & Roskell, Late Storr Mortimer & Hunt, with number 2745. Maximum diameter measures 15 inches (38 cm), weight 50 ozt (1555.4 grams).

Condition Report
The salver displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Deeper and longer scratches and contact marks are visible and also various minor nicks. Some slight loss of detail but the engraved decoration is generally still fairly good. The tray wobbles very slightly. The hallmarks on the underside are clear and legible. There are also some scratched marks.
