Lot Description
An early twentieth century silver import caster of inverted baluster outline, wrythen moulded with floral embossed decoration and raised above a footed base, the removable cover with simple hole piercing, bud finial and a bayonet style fitting. Hallmarked John George Piddington, London 1902, alongside the Foreign Mark, also struck with three Hanau marks attributed to Neresheimer & Sohne. Height including finial measures 8 1/4 inches (21 cm), weight 8.21 ozt (255.3 grams).

Condition Report
The caster appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying general wear including surface scratching, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some slight dints/nicks. Small hole in one of the embossed flowers. Slight loss of surface detail to some of the decoration. Slight knock to foot rim. The hallmarks are clear and legible, located to the neck of the main body. Two Hanau marks to neck rim and one struck to the lid.
