An early 20th century Continental inlaid table box. Perhaps Austrian, the hinged rectangular cover decorated in brass scrollwork with a dog and cat in confrontation, on abalone shell shard ground and spandrels, the body with piquework frieze, 6.25" x 3.25" x 2" high, (16cm x 8cm x 5cm).
