Lot Description
A pair of George II silver berry spoons, the fluted bowls with embossed fruits leading to scroll engraved stems with vacant cartouches, repeated verso, hallmarked London 1740, maker's mark faint and obscured, length measuring 7 5/8 inches (19.5 cm). Together two similar continental spoons, each with heart shaped bowl and twisted stem leading to a pierced terminal, indistinctly marked. Gross weight 4.6 ozt (144.3 grams).

Condition Report
In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Remnants of polish visible between the embossed decoration on the berry spoons, would benefit from a clean, the gilding in the bowls appears dull, one of the berry spoons has heavier wear to the interior and fluting, the maker's mark on the berry spoons are faint and obscured, other hallmarks slightly worn. The continental spoons have varying designs to the pierced terminals, one is marked with B G beneath a crown style motif within a circular punch, the other appears to have a star shape within a circular punch.
