Lot Description

A late Victorian set of twelve silver teaspoons and a pair of sugar tongs, each with a vacant oval cartouche to the bright-cut engraved terminals and stem, within a fitted case, hallmarked Josiah Williams & Co (George Maudsley Jackson & David Landsborough Fullerton), London 1897. Together with a late Victorian silver vesta case, with engraved foliate motifs surrounding a monogrammed cartouche, hallmarked Birmingham 1898, a 1920's silver mounted and blue guilloche enamelled hand mirror and clothes brush, a plated hand mirror and clothes brush with iridescent enamelled decoration, etc. Gross weighable silver 3.9 ozt (122.1 grams).

In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. No personal engravings to the cartouches on the cased spoons and sugar tongs, the fitted case shuts securely, minor discolouration to the top of the case, the base appears to have some water damage and a noticeable split to the wood. The vesta case is engraved with a monogram of 'RJW?', the striker is worn, with minor bumps and dents. Engraved initials to the skewer like item. Significant chips and losses to the enamelled hand mirrors. Majority of hallmarks clear and legible. This lot may have export issues, for customers outside of the EU, please note that it is the buyers responsibility to adhere to any import/export requirements.
