Lot Description
An early twentieth century silver mounted jewellery box, of rectangular form with wavy reeded edge border and engraved ribbon garland to the lid, opening to reveal a material lined interior, the whole raised upon four corner feet. Hallmarked W G Sothers & Co., Birmingham 1915. Width measures 4 1/8 inches (10.5 cm).

Condition Report
In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The hinged lid closes but slightly catches to one corner. Minor loss of definition to the engraved decoration. Heavier tarnishing around corners and edges. The interior lining has some stains and discolouration and comes out as the glue has dried attaching it to the box, the bottom piece is also completely loose. Remnants of polish visible. Hallmarks slightly worn but still legible.
