A mid-Victorian silver-gilt open salt, modelled in the form of a shell with an engraved crest, raised upon a scroll and foliate base, hallmarked Charles Boyton (II), London 1874, height measures 2 3/8 inches (6 cm). Together with a late Victorian silver-gilt condiment spoon, with shell bowl and terminal and engraved crest, hallmarked John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater, London 1893. Gross weight 7.6 ozt (239.2 grams). (2).
