Lot Description
A late Victorian silver hip flask of plain oblong form, the hinged globular lid with bayonet lock mechanism and removable cup. Hallmarked W & G Neal, London 1897. Height measuring 4 6/8 inches (12 cm), weight 4.8 ozt (150.6 grams).

Condition Report
In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The bayonet lock mechanism is a little stiff but in working order. The top half of the flask has a minor horizontal dent and the back of the top half has a small area of file marks/scratches near the curved edge. Down the one side there is patches of residue, scuffs and tarnish spots. There are several contact marks to the main body of the flask below from the removable cup. Heavier area of tarnish to the bottom and lower half of the back of the flask. Hallmarks slightly rubbed and worn but still legible, also with part hallmarks to various sections.
