Lot Description

An Edwardian silver mounted desk clip, the openwork bracket clip with two putti merman beneath vines, raised upon a heart shaped tortoiseshell base. Hallmarked Grey & Co., Birmingham 1905. Length of base measures 4 3/8 inches (11.2 cm).

Export issue: Yes

Total lot weight: No

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier tarnishing to the openwork decoration with some loss of definition, part of the openwork is bent downwards slightly on the edge. Some discolouration to beneath the clip, would benefit from a clean and polish. The clip is slightly loose on the base as two opposing pins are present but not holding the piece down. Hallmarks clear and legible, partial hallmarks to the bracket. This lot may have export issues, for customers outside of the EU, please note that it is the buyers responsibility to adhere to any import/export requirements.
