Lot Description

A George V silver sovereign case, of plain circular form, the press release case opening to reveal an engine-turned sprung platform holder for a full sovereign. Hallmarked William Neale & Son Ltd., assumed Birmingham 1911. Diameter measures 3.3 cm, gross weight 18.4 grams.

In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor bumps and dents. The press release is in working order, the platform holder has a good spring is pushed down. Hallmarks clear and legible, no town mark present, assumed Birmingham 1911, the suspension ring is hallmarked D B in between two lion passants.
