An impressive pair of Regency silver four-light candelabra, each on a shaped circular base...

Both candlesticks are extremely dirty and very heavily tarnished throughout. There are also residues of polish and wax to some parts. We have tried to clean them so that some of the ornate detail can be seen, however they will most definitely require a professional clean.

It is therefore quite difficult to see the surface and condition of the silver underneath the tarnish but I would imagine once cleaned the overall condition will be good as they appear to have retained the intricate detail of the decoration.

Various removable parts screw together and some of the nozzles and drip-pans appear jammed in position or a very tight fit. However some of the nozzles are a loose fit. There are possible small repairs to a couple of the drip-pans and a couple of tiny holes in one or two of the nozzles.

The parts do appear to fit quite well together, however the removable three branch upper sections feel a little unstable and do wobble slightly when placed on the lower sections.

As stated in the main description, the main sections are dated London 1812, however there are two different maker's marks. Most parts do bear full or part hallmarks. There is a further struck mark to some sections, which resembles the London date letter for 1840 but within a circular punch.
