A mid-twentieth century silver swing-handled basket, of oval pierced form with reeded scalloped edge, raised upon a conforming pedestal base. Hallmarked S Blanckensee & Son Ltd., Birmingham 1942. Length measuring 11 4/8 inches (29.5 cm), weight 20.1 ozt (627.4 grams).

In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Slight compression to the centre from the base. Remnants of polish visible. Maker's mark rubbed and worn to the body, other hallmarks clear and legible, partial hallmarks to the handle.
