Lot Description

An Edwardian silver salver, of circular scalloped form with gadrooned rim border and engraved presentation inscription to the centre, the whole raised upon three stylised feet. Hallmarked Elkington & Co Ltd., Birmingham 1909. Diameter measuring 10 2/8 inches (26 cm), weight 19.8 ozt (617.9 grams).

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Presentation inscription reads 'L?. O. R. R. Presented to Leigh.t. Mayor F. Well. by his Comrades in the Himley Troop on his resignation after 26 years service. 1909.' Remnants of polish visible in between the decoration. Would benefit from a clean and polish. Hallmarks clear and legible.
