Lot Description

A late Victorian silver bonbon dish, of circular form with pierced rim border embossed with scroll and floral motifs, hallmarked William Aitken, Chester 1895, diameter measuring 5 5/8 inches (14.5 cm). Together with a pair of George IV silver mustard spoons, each of double struck King's pattern with crested terminal, hallmarked Jonathan Hayne, London 1827, a further singular George IV silver mustard spoon, hallmarked London 1826, etc. Gross weight 4.8 ozt (152 grams).

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor loss of definition to the decoration on the bonbon dish. The pair of mustard spoons are quite worn to the terminal, heel and crest.  The Hester Bateman spoon is engraved with the initials 'I F K' to the terminal, marked only with the lion passant and maker's mark, assumed London, the decoration of the back of the bowl is significantly worn. Majority of other hallmarks clear and legible.
