Lot Description

A pair of modern silver mounted silver candlesticks, each with filled circular base rising to a knopped baluster stem and bell shape socket with removable nozzle. Hallmarked R Hodd & Son, London 1978, part hallmarks to one nozzle, the other appears unmarked. Height excluding nozzles measuring 8 1/8 inches (20.5 cm).

Both candlesticks appear quite dirty and tarnished with residues of wax to stems and especially to interior of nozzles, which are very dirty. Would benefit from a clean and polish. General surface marks and scratches and a few minor surface dints and bumps. A larger dint visible to one base rim. Nozzles with very heavy dirt and tarnish. one with lion passant and Assay office mark, the other appears unmarked. Main hallmarks a little rubbed but still clearly legible.
