Lot Description

A mid-twentieth century silver compact, the circular form with royal blue enamel lid having centrally applied crown motif and opening to a fitted mirror verso. Hallmarked John William Barrett, Birmingham 1948. Diameter measuring 3 inches (7.5 cm).

Some tarnishing to silver including spotting to interior and would benefit from a clean and polish. Some expected surface wear, marks and scratches. The surface of the enamel with many nicks and scratches and quite a pitted appearance to some areas. Hinge and clasp appear in working order and it closes securely. Possible repairs around hinge. Hallmarks clear and legible, slight distortion to maker's mark. Without powder, mesh and sponge.
