Lot Description

An Edwardian silver import novelty case or holder, modelled as a cat playing a drum, with hinged head opening to form the lid. Hallmarked Theodor Hartmann, London 1901, alongside the Foreign mark. Height measuring 5.2 cm, gross weight 38.5 grams.

The cat appears in good overall condition, displaying some tarnishing throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish. Some surface wear, marks and scratches and slight loss of surface detail to areas of the decoration, Hinge and clasp appear in good working order. Hallmarked to tail and these are clear and legible. Remnants of a possible mark to the underside of one paw.
