Lot Description

An Edwardian silver nurses belt, each of the ten interlinked panels with an embossed cherubs head in low relief, leading to a central oval shaped buckle embossed with five cherub heads, hallmarked William Comyns & Sons, London 1903, maximum length measuring 34 1/8 inches (86.8 cm). Together with a modern silver belt buckle, of similar style and design, hallmarked P M Ltd., Birmingham 1989. Gross weight 8.2 ozt (255.7 grams). (2).

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The embossed decoration is significantly worn in places across the ten panels and buckle on the belt. The modern belt buckle has crude solder repairs to the back. Hallmarks clear and legible, partial hallmarks to various sections.
