Lot 360

Lot Description

A continental white metal bag clasp, the pierced scroll shaped hinged mount with embossed cherubs amongst floral motifs, with twist ball clasp and suspended double chain, also engraved '4th September 1918'. Appears unmarked. Maximum width measuring 8 1/2 inches (21.6 cm), gross weight 6.4 ozt (201.6 grams).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The mount tests from 80-83% silver across various sections, the chain tests around 64% silver. Some loss of definition across the decoration. Visible signs of crude solder repairs to one of the flower baskets which attaches the chain. Would benefit from a clean and polish. Appears unmarked.
