A Stuart Devlin silver-gilt 'While shepherds watched their flocks by night' Christmas surprise egg, the flat chased cover depicting herds of sheep beneath stars, opening to reveal a green enamelled ground with the angel standing over two shepherds and four sheep, contained within a fitted case. Hallmarked Stuart Devlin, London 1988, numbered 61. Height measuring 6.4 cm.

In fair to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The cover of the egg has heavier tarnished areas. The angel feels a bit loose and wobbles. Hallmarks clear and legible.
