Condition Report
In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. All pieces would benefit from a clean and polish. The 1917 cigarette case appears to have been re-gilded to the interior. The 1935 cigarette case has darker tarnishing and heavier scratches to the interior, missing one of its elastic bands. The 1949 example has an engraved pictorial cartouche of an Indian head with the motto 'Feathers in our cap' which appears to relate to the inscriptions to the interior which reads 'Presented To F. B. Williams. By Guy Motors Ltd. In recognition of 21 years loyal service'. The table cigarette box is significantly dented to the hinged lid which compresses inwards to the middle and causes it to over hang slightly, the cartouche on the lid is engraved with the masonic square and compass, it has a wood lined interior to the base, the front of the box has a presentation inscription which reads 'Presented To W. Bro. R. L. Bartlett. P. M. P. G. S. of W. in remembrance of the Harry Years 1921-1927', which is rubbed and worn. Majority of hallmarks clear and legible.
