A 1920's silver cigarette case, of oblong canted form with engraved scroll and floral motifs surrounding an initialled corner cartouche, opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior, hallmarked Samuel McLardy & Co., Birmingham 1922, width 2 7/8 inches (7.5 cm). Together with a 1920's silver vesta case, similarly decorated with central monogrammed cartouche, hallmarked William Neale & Son Ltd., Birmingham 1922. Gross weight 4.2 ozt (130.9 grams). (2).

Condition Report
In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The cigarette case has some minor loss of definition, minor dint to the top of the case and near the push release, the cartouche is engraved with the initials F. A. F or J. A. J?, the two pieces do not align flush, remnants of polish visible to the interior. The vesta case is engraved 'A M' to the cartouche, the striker appears worn with remnants of polish. Hallmarks clear and legible.
